Building Resilience - Overcoming Adversity

Georgina (they, them, she) is a certified end-of-life doula, Reiki practitioner, self-published author, and pioneer of the only PTSD stress and emotional recovery program using psilocybin mushrooms to reduce morbidity and mortality in autistic adults of color. Diagnosed with autism and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at age 44, she has over 25 years of experience researching psilocybin. Georgina draws on their lived experiences to advise clinicians and academics on the experiential interface of race, autism, and trauma. Georgina’s work uniquely distills the firsthand perspective of an autistic psychedelic user, along with meticulously researched autism theory, the latest insight from neuroscience, molecular biology, neuro-cognitive studies and psychology to present a much needed expert perspective on the ways psilocybin mushrooms can improve the mental and physical health outcomes for adults on the spectrum. Their work has been recognized by the Trans Justice Funding Project, Georgina is a member of the International Society for Autism Research, and has made presentations to the Whitaker Scholars Program in Developmental Neuropsychiatry.
